California Dreamin’ by The Mamas and the Papas

Stopped into a church I passed along the way.
Well, I got down on my knees (got down on my knees) And I pretend to pray (I pretend to pray)

California Dreamin’ by The Mamas and the Papas

Something in this song feels haunting to me. I can’t quite place my finger on it. It could be the way that each of their voices meets in that ethereal plane that few bands have managed to reach – a sound that I associate with the golden age of music, at least in my opinion.

I remember watching part of a film in college film studies called “Chungking Express“, which featured this song prominently. I never really paid attention to that film, but I can’t help but feel I should go back and watch it now I’m older and… wiser?

Far From Alive — Resident Evil 2 Rap

At first I thought that this would be a bit of a gimmick, but it has legit grown on me and is now in my regular playlist.

I am addicted to running around the world of Raccoon City in Resident Evil 2 and the recently-released Resident Evil 3 Remake.

I’m looking forward to any music that the same creator can bring from RE3’s world in the coming weeks / months.

Lyrics by Jim Steinman

My first time hearing this song was in fact as a cover by Meat Loaf on his album Braver Than We Are. The song was actually written by Jim Steinman whose most well-known collaborator is Meat Loaf. And he has been known to reuse his songs for different artists over the years

Ladyhawke – Wild Things Video

I can’t express how much Ladyhawke’s music has grown on me in the short month since I discovered her.

The song “Wild Things” was immediately one of my favourites from her latest album of the same name.

I have just seen the music video for this song and it has somehow made me love the song even more. Such a powerful song, and powerful delivery, make this one of my all time favourite songs I think.
