My all time favorite album
What’s your all-time favorite album?

The Bends by Radiohead This is one writing prompt that has taken me a while to really think about.
There’s a bunch of albums I could name that are in my top albums. However, trying to name a single all-time favorite album has been tricky.
I decided in the end on “The Bends” by Radiohead.
I love every single song on the album and each song flows perfectly into the next.
Stand out songs
Every song is a banger. But singling out a few I’d say these are my favorite off the album:
- Just
- My Iron Lung
- Bones (used excellently in the TV series Derek)
So glad I got to see these live at V Festival back in 2006.
That was a while ago now.
So much has changed since then.
In fact, now I come to think about it, this album is one where I can remember specific times when I’ve lay there, often in the dark, and just listened to it through with headphones.
It’s amazing what you remember when you sit to write something down.

Heavy is the crown by Linkin Park

If The Emptiness Machine is a banger, which it is, then Heavy is the Crown is an ABSOLUTE FUCKING BANGER mate.
Wow.
This is really a new era of Linkin Park and I am here for it.
The song felt completely familiar of early Linkin Park, but completely fresh.
And Emily’s scream at 1 minute 48 seconds. Christ on a bike.
Wow.
Roll on the album release date. 🤘
Love it.

Innuendo by Queen

This album has resurfaced in my life and it just hits a lot differently than it did last time I heard it.
Every song is an absolute banger that are bookended by two of my favorite Queen songs — Innuendo and The Show must go on.
The lyrics of These are the days of our lives is especially poignant to me now as a father.

Modern tech is cancerous – I’m going clear
Most of modern tech, be it devices or software / digital services are corrupt and cancerous. They promise increased productivity and ease of use in exchange for your privacy and your control.
My aim is to go clear, as much as I can, and document that journey here.
Some things I have already done, such as switching to a privacy-respecting email provider like Protonmail. And a privacy-focused messaging service like Signal.
My aim for these posts is to give others a kind of guide to do this themselves. Some of the steps will be difficult for those who don’t have the privilege of time and / or technical know how. This is also part of the problem – some alternatives are not easy or convenient to switch to. But I will do my best here.
I’m not bothered about privacy — I have nothing to hide.
people without a real clue. Also people without curtains on their windows or doors on any toilets they use.
