I’ve just listened to a couple of songs recommended by The Last Mix Tape website and loved them all.
Figured I’d go one better and work through their Top 100 songs of 2020.

Beautiful haunting song.
Gave me similar vibes to parts of the Inland Empire and Mulholland Drive soundtrack.
There is a very specific song that it’s reminding me of — I just can’t remember what song it is. As soon as I remember I’ll update it here.
I think it is reminding me of “Llorando” — the French version of Crying from Mulholland Drive.
Released in 2004, this is one of my favourite albums from my younger days.
Thanks to a work mate, my love for this band has been re-ignited. I have been listened to their albums lots over the past couple of weeks, but this one has stood out to me above most.
Possibly helped along from the nostalgia I feel for this album.
Start of the Day’s playlist for 28th September 2020.
When the random music mix gives you a row of killer songs. 🤘
I’ve never been much of a fan of The Killers. However, this song is an absolute banger. Loved it from the first listen.
Listening to Goblin Greatest Hits
After watching Deep Red last night, the music of Goblin could be a new obsession for me. 🤪
Something in this song feels haunting to me. I can’t quite place my finger on it. It could be the way that each of their voices meets in that ethereal plane that few bands have managed to reach.

I remember watching part of a film in college film studies called “Chungking Express“, which featured this song prominently. I never really paid attention to that film, but I can’t help but feel I should go back and watch it now I’m older and… wiser?
No explanations, no reviews, just album covers in alphabetical order. Thanks to Rafe for the inspiration for this.
This rap song from “JT Music” is a decent rap song inspired by the Resident Evil 2 Remake game.
At first I thought that this would be a bit of a gimmick, but it has legit grown on me and is now in my regular playlist.
I am addicted to running around the world of Raccoon City in Resident Evil 2 and the recently-released Resident Evil 3 Remake.
I’m looking forward to any music that the same creator can bring from RE3’s world in the coming weeks / months.
Absolute banger of a song by The Sisters of Mercy and Written by Jim Steinman.
Some people get by
Lyrics by Jim Steinman
With a little understanding
Some people get by
With a whole lot more
My first time hearing this song was in fact as a cover by Meat Loaf on his album Braver Than We Are. The song was actually written by Jim Steinman whose most well-known collaborator is Meat Loaf. And he has been known to reuse his songs for different artists over the years
My favourite song from his new album, ‘Ordinary Man’.
Under the Graveyard
We’re all rotten bones
Under the Graveyard — Ozzy Osbourne
Here is the first monthly round-up I’ve done. Just some songs, albums, films and games that I’ve enjoyed in February 2020.

Incredible song by Prince and the Revolution, from the album Graffiti Bridge
Love come quick
First lyrics from Thieves in the Template by Prince
Love come in a hurry
There are thieves in the temple tonight
They don’t care where they kick
Just as long as they hurt you
There are thieves in the temple tonight
