For fuck’s sake.
Digital Ocean have joined the other numbskulls and have given a bunch of money to the Fascist-ware set of dotfiles that it omarchy.
Millions for a set of configs on top of Arch Linux.
Now I need to find an alternative.
For those not sure why people are jumping ship from people who are supporting dhh’s config files, here’s one of them: “as i remember london by dhh”
So I turn to AskFedi first for any recommendations for alternatives.
Oh my god I am being surrounded by videos / people etc going on about Omarchy being the next big thing and how building your own arch install is a “waste of time”… hmm.
Also what’s with d_hh essentially crapping on all the people who built gnu/linux in really back-handed compliments.
“…nerdy, pocket-protector, completely devoid of style…who wrote good 40,000,000 lines of code… we’re layering on nice asthetics”
It’s literally a bunch of techbros, yet again, bowing to this guy who basically vibe-coded some themes and configured some programs. All to try and “package up” linux into some set of prducts and a… conference? lmao
